Things change, as did today’s ride.

Prior to DirtyBird in Sycamore, Rips Tavern was rated the best fried chicken in Illinois. Serving Ladd and surrounding communities since 1936, it is still considered a “must visit”.  As you can see by following the link below, they do have other items, however the chicken is what they are known for.

Ride is approximately 75 miles, about 2.5 hours with about a ½ hour stop about halfway down.

Directors Ride to Starved Rock State Park, led by Mark Russo

I have a Sunday Brunch Ride to the Starved Rick lodge on April 14, 2024.

Reservations are for 12;00 pm, and price is $26.00 per person.

We’ll be riding through Kane, Kendall, Grundy, and LaSalle Counties. Approximately a 2 hour ride with a rest at the Big R Truck Stop in Morris.

Meet up FRHD at 8:30 am, KSU at 9:00

Join us as we participate in the 17th Annual International Femail Ride Day!

This ride will allow the chapter to profile and highlight women who enjoy motorcycling.

Ladies, lets be the Queen for the day as we head to Havencrest Castle, Savana, IL (men are welcome to follow the ladies leading)

$25 entry fee, tour 27 rooms, garden and grotto.

Weekends were made for riding. Paul will be leading a ride to Brown County Indiana over the Memorial Day weekend. On Sunday we will enjoy a nice ride through the rolling country and wood lined roads to visit some of the covered bridges southeast of Indianapolis.

About 180 miles

From the dealer we will be taking Randall Road north. I promise the roads will get better after Algonquin.

After lunch we have a 5 mile ride to Elegant Farmer for a little shopping and awesome apple pie.

Leaving to head home I know there are a few good roads in Illinois and we are going to find them.

180-mile day. 

From the dealer we will ride down to Dixon to take advantage of the view along route 2.

We will take route 2 almost to Rockford where we will take a few smaller roads to Smokin’ Coops for lunch.

After lunch we will work our way home with the mandatory ice cream stop.
